am dumb
i finally realized today—after checking my dictionary—that randomly for the past month (and never before that), i’ve been incorrectly spelling ‘stayed,’ spelling it ‘staid,’ which is a word, but with a completely different meaning.  oops.  i promise i’m not stupid all the time.

I’ve found so many strange reasons to hate the person I’d give anything to laugh with or even stand beside, but to list them:  impossible.  words fail to describe how greatly i abhor the distance between us—lying in separate beds a hundred miles apart or even the atomic distance between our fingers—and hate even my selfishness, wanting all of you for only me.  and how, if...

Our bathroom occasionally still smells like my vomit from my birthday night.  The kind of mistakes that even the strongest chemicals can’t destroy, like cruel words that end friendships or sour conversations. reminding you:  Your life cannot be undone; Memory fails only in your Mind.

How delusional are we, exactly? Insisting to farmers that our food has to be cheap is like commanding a ten-year-old to choose a profession and move out of the house now.  It violates the sprit of the enterprise.  It guarantees bad results. — Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, Barbara Kingsolver

It was a part of his twenty years’ heritage of breathing the same air and hearing his father talk about the man Sutpen; a part of the town’s—Jefferson’s—eighty years’ heritage of the same air which the man himself had breathed between this September afternoon in 1909 and that Sunday morning in June in 1833 when he first rode into town out of no discernible past...

karaj: (whenwetalkaboutlove) II I wake up in your bed. I know I have been dreaming. Much earlier, the alarm broke us from each other, you’ve been at your desk for hours. I know what I dreamed: our friend the poet comes into my room where I’ve been writing for days, drafts, carbons, poems are scattered everywhere, and I want to show her one poem which is the poem of my life. But I...

CERN Gets Closer to Proving It Broke the Light... →
New tests at the European science facility CERN yet again confirm the results of their prior experiment which showed faster-than-light particles, reports the BBC and The Washington Post. Back in September, CERN scientists clocked neutrinos — funky, ghostly particles that pass through every square inch of Earth billions of times a second — at 60 nanoseconds faster than the speed of light. Sixty...

i like queer like doctor and ph.d and you and me the they and we     and ,think of me absolutely, rest your thoughts on my words, not my parts; consider my whole, leave nothing out. i like queer and i like my name—but i hate checking [x] f or [ ] m     explaining: jordan is a girl this time (but maybe the jordan over there is a boy), and seeing a difference.  i like queer as much as i...

apathy filling every void and crevice between myself and everything i love want or need.  how can you expect anything from me when wind bites my cheeks so carelessly and sinks its sharp grip into my bones so furiously, when my mind has exhausted thought, and when my days are filled with thoughts of yesterday and tomorrow.  how can you expect the right words from me, the right love, the right...

ahuntersheart: Of asphodel, that greeny flower, like a buttercup upon its branching stem- save that it's green and wooden- I come, my sweet, to sing to you. We lived long together a life filled, if you will, with flowers. So that I was cheered when I came first to know that there were flowers also in hell. Today I'm filled with the fading memory of those...

I know you are reading this poem late, before leaving your office of the one intense yellow lamp-spot and the darkening window in the lassitude of a building faded to quiet long after rush-hour. I know you are reading this poem standing up in a bookstore far from the ocean on a grey day of early spring, faint flakes driven across the plains’ enormous spaces around you. I know you are reading...
